Antheria is coming.
October 1st is right around the corner. Time is running out to pre-register.
With hotel rates at 99 dollars a night for a 4-star room (and the hotel not charging in advance) makes this con one of the most affordable and best out there. (Book online at: http://l33.it/qqc8i )
Combine that with a special discount through AirTran (with discounted flights just for attendees) and this will be an opportunity you do not want to miss.
Pre-registered attendees will get special early pick-up at registration. Get in before the At-the-Door late-comers.
Events
Antheria opens this year with Guest of Honor Stan Sakai, the creator of Usagi Yojimbo, as well as featuring living performances by 2 the Ranting Gryphon, Uncle Kage, and Matt Ebel. And appearances from Special Guests – Agent Elrond and Mark Merlino.
Along with the traditional SIG panels and fursuit parade, we will have some one of a kind events like “Alcohol Appreciation” hosted by Jibba, 2, and Kage.
Special Announcements
Exclusively for California residents, we are offering a special 25% discount/rebate off our Caesar level membership. Get all the benefits for less than everyone else. (Limited Time Offer Ends Sept. 10th)

We’ve updated the whole website from top to bottom and added a few new features, such as our special badge pre-view on our registration form. And now our new on-line registration system accepts Google Checkout and is fully secure! (It’s like PayPal but without the drama)

We are offering benefits such as Bid Alert on all of Art Auction Items. Instead of having to check to see if you were outbid, you are now free to roam the con and will be informed by email or text should someone out bid you. This experience is aimed at making the convention more convenient and accessible to everyone.

Second time should be good

Still we had tons of fun storming the Redondo Beach Boardwalk and the pier.
Hopefully the kinks have been ironed out to make the second go painless.
Is it going to be the same hotel, or can it be moved someplace else?
Yeah, I'm going somewhere with this... Seal Beach hasn't had anything like an amusement park since the 1920s. The best hotel in the area for a con wouldn't be the Pacific Inn, but the Seaport Marina Hotel. Seven banquet rooms available, so, plenty of space for stuff. It's next to a marina that has cruises from "Corks Away" as well as one on gondolas. There's even a small fleet of "Big Red Bus" double decker lorries. Lots of stores/restaurants around, and directly across the corner of an In-N-Out. It's across the street of one movie theater, and another movie theater within half mile walking distance. No video game arcade nearby, but there's the Ultra Shore Lounge that's attached to the hotel. And by the marina, every Sunday, there is a Farmer's Market, as well as some sort of crafts market - So it's a different mix, but should be fun. That is, if they'd accept such a wingding.

This year, we have moved across the street to the luxrious Crowne Plaza hotel. We have secured more than twice the convention space we had last year.
Long Beach's funny entertainment permit system.

I notced at work (a grocery store) two requests for two existing businesses to have dance floors installed. They hold public opinion forums to address any issues against allowing the permit.
Since Antheria is such a special kind of entertainment, would it be welcome in the city, even if it's on the outskirts?
